- DescriptionI’m very pleased to offer this ONE astonishing circa-1915 sconce by the famous Beardslee Company! This listing is for ONE fixture.Beardslee produced some of the finest lighting in America. They were at 216, 218 and 220 South Jefferson Street in Chicago. The sconce has two significant features: 1) It’s huge. It’s almost 18-high (minus bulbs) and 16-wide. Most of my sconces are less than 10-inches high. 2) The quality. It’s dazzling. There’s no stamped metal. It’s all heavy casting. Note the beefy bobeches and candle cups.Note, too, the lovely patina which I but gently buffed.I describe the fixture as brass. It might be bronze. The wiring is all new. Nice. So, if you need a single, spectacular sconce for an important, imposing space, this rare knock-out may be idealThis fixture is ready to hang, and comes with all the mounting hardware needed!DETAILS: The fixture accepts standard base 60W bulbs (not included). Flame-style LED bulbs would look well. The fixture mounts directly to a wall. I will supply all the mounting bits. The large sphere on the bottom of the backplate will cover a modern electrical outlet. From the center of the sphere to the top of the candles is about 14-inches. COLOR: See above. SIZE: See above. As well, the sconce projects an impressive 10-inches. CONDITION: I love writing this: there’s no damage. The sockets are original and in fine condition with new wiring and insulators. The candle covers are new. SHIPPING: Insured shipping in the Continental US will be…FREE!
